Jelly Bean has been the talk of the town lately, and most of us are tinkering with Jelly Bean development ROM’s for our Android devices. While you might have to wait a tad bit longer to get Jelly Bean working fully on your device, you can definitely get the feel of the latest Android iteration on your Windows 7 desktop.
The same wonderful author, Hamed who brought the Mac OSX Mountain Lion, Ice Cream Sandwich and Windows 8 Metro experience to our Windows 7 desktop has done it again with an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean theme for Windows 7.
The Skin Pack contains the following components customised specifically for a near perfect Android feel on your Windows 7 Desktop
- Rocket Dock
- Official Jelly Bean Wallpaper
- XWidgets
- Jelly Bean styled Window theme
- Cursors
- RefreshIcon – Jelly Bean styled Icons
- Jelly Bean Login Screen
Download: Jelly Bean Skin Pack for Windows 7 [22.4 MB]
The Skin Pack will work only on Windows 7 and Windows 7 SP1. If you are using Windows 7 Home Basic or Starter, unlock Aero (required for the theme) by using Aero Patch
Installation
Uninstall any prior skin packs before proceeding for best performance.
Installation is a pretty simple click-next affair, but make sure NOT to check the installation of the annoying Babylon Toolbar and altering of search defaults during installation by unchecking the items as shown below.
Despite multiple tries, I could not get the boot screen working. Also it has been often the root of the post installation issues which some of our readers report us. So make sure you uncheck it while installing the theme. A reboot is required to complete the installation.
The Theme
I found the theme to be very aesthetic matching the Jelly Bean style pretty well. Though the dock by default takes up a lot of space, which can changed easily by enabling auto hide in Rocket Dock settings. The theme is very light with no performance or stability issues. At mere 22 MB download, and light footprint, the theme is a must have for Android fans.

Uninstallation
In any case you want to uninstall the theme, just select uninstall from the Jelly Bean Skin Pack folder in the start menu. Check all the items for clean removal.
