Android has covered a long journey since its inception and has bought many radical changes and features under its hood. But there’s one thing that has still not been added — photo resizing. There’s no way to resize a picture before emailing it to someone. A typical photograph taken from a high-end smartphone weighs no less than 1.5MB and has a resolution of more than twice than of that of your PC monitor. Do you really need to share a photo that large? In most cases, No.
Send Reduced to the rescue! It’s a tiny app for Android that helps you by resizing your photo and even compressing its quality to save some extra space before sharing it for you.
The app is super simple — there’s just nothing to explain about. Simply open the app, configure the resolution at which photos will be resized and photo quality. Next, whenever you require to resize a photo for emailing or sharing it, share it with Send Reduced and the app will provide you with a list of apps to share the photo with.
Sure, there are several other similar apps available for Android as well that do the same job, are more powerful and have more customizable options. But none of them are as fast as Send Reduced is.
However, the app could have surely helped itself by improving its User Interface a bit and adding helpful texts around explaining the user how to resize photos since some might try to look for a button that reads “Open image”, etc.
The app is so simple that there’s nothing to talk about it. Just head over to the Play Store and download for free:
