The bumpTop company, which makes softwares for 3D Desktop, made an announcement on Friday that it has been acquired by Google. But why the hell did Google buy it?
Google is known more for its large presence over the web. Every time you turn your head around, you will surely see Google. Google Maps, Google Mail, Google Adsense and other countless services.
The company, founded by Anand Agarawala, has been developing the technology to make the desktop more like a real desk by using 3 dimensions, icon piles, and photo pin-ups.
Any Special Plans for the Google Tablet?
So where is Google planning to introduce 3D experience? A 3D interface in Google Chrome, Google Desktop, Google Earth or Picasa also doesn’t sound much worthy. The only thing left is – Google Chrome OS!

Although, no specific announcements have been made by Google about their Tablet’s UI, chances are there that the Chromium Team might end up adding the sleek 3D interface of BumpTop to the Tablet. Moreover, Google needs something different and innovative in their tablet so as to fight with Apple’s which has already sold 1 Milltion iPads in just 28 days!
There are many gestures and actions in BumpTop like its multi-touch features and highly innovative way of selecting items on the desktop or piling them to save some space, that can be taken to manipulate files within the 3D environmen would make an excellent feature for it.
