The developer preview of Ubuntu OS Touch has been made available for download for select phones and tablets as promised by Canonical, the team behind Ubuntu. Although the status of its development is still work-in-progress, the preview offers Ubuntu enthusiasts and Android users alike a chance to try out the company’s innovative new ‘convergent’ interface.

In short, the preview is currently only available for Nexus devices. However, the company has put up a guide for porting it to other devices here.

Instructions for flashing the preview can be found here and required flashable files can be found on this page. As already stated earlier, this preview is still unfinished so be prepared to encounter a few bugs. A complete list of known issues can be found here. The whole installation process is pretty cumbersome. As the general rule states, If you do not know how to do it, you shouldn’t do it.
