Intel Xolo x900 and other popular x86 devices like Motorola Razr I have been receiving some developer love off late. While the ICS update for Intel Xolo x900 fixed most of the issues with app compatibility, quite now and then, developers tend to keep forgetting about the x86 platform. This time however, it is Google.
Surprisingly earlier than I expected, Chrome for Android has hit version 25 in the Play store. But that’s not all good news despite the new release garnering a lot of praise from ARM users due to performance improvements. The latest version merely force closes after being stuck in the default screen for a while on all Android x86 devices.
Does the Beta Channel work?
No. At version 25.0.1364.122, the beta channel is ironically behind the stable version. It must be noted that Chrome Beta never actually worked on the device as well and was promptly not displayed on the device’s Play store ever.
Unfortunately there are no workarounds for the issue and we have to wait for any updates to the app and Google’s comments on the bug reports with regards to this issue. However there are couple of other things you can do
For UNROOTED Xolo x900
It will be likely that you have Chrome preinstalled on your devices with the latest OTA update. To get Chrome working all you have to do is to uninstall the latest update.
Go to Settings > Apps > Chrome and select Uninstall updates
For Rooted phones
If you do not have the OTA update installed, then uninstall Chrome 25 / Chrome 25 beta and downgrade to Chrome 18 for x86 . Despite being 7 releases old compared to the latest version this release just fine and is extremely smooth and jiffy.

Alternative : Try Firefox Aurora build for Android x86
If you want to use a more up to date browser and not satisfied with Chrome 18 then you are in some luck. Mozilla has been working on x86 support for Android for a while now and barring few minor glitches the latest Aurora builds work extremely well. As a added bonus, you also get fully working Firefox sync to sync with your desktop browser and full Adobe Flash support, which is not available in Chrome for Android.
