Sending Voice messages is the new way of communicating. Remember, there was a time when IM was a big thing, we all loved it, but those days are gone, just like days of text messages. Recently, Whatsapp introduced voice messaging and there was a big splurge amongst the users as if it was the second coming of a super power.
The single reason why voice message is the new in thing is because they are more personal than a text message or an IM. Also, very important to consider that voice messages mean you can do away from typing on your touchscreens, which lets face it, not many of us are fans of. We still prefer typing on physical keys than touch screens, so with voice messages you can send your message across without having to really be mindful of typing them, the biggest plus, obviously is that they are free. Its like using walkie-talkie in the good old day. Keep the talk button pressed, send your message and receive messages.
Although Voice Messages can be sent with various third party apps, but some of them do have restrictions, like recording from within the app or time constraints. To get away from all of this, you can easily send Voice Messages right from your iMessage app. Obviously this works only between the people who connect via iMessage, but nevertheless, it is a wonderful feature one that is very convenient.
Simply follow the steps listed below to send unlimited voice messages over iMessage to your contacts.
Step 1:
Open the Voice Memo app and record your voice not, this could also be some song playing and in case you want to send that over to your friends on iMessage. Make sure, once you are done recording you set a relevant name to the recording.
Step 2:
Come to the Voice Memos that have been saved and select the voice message that you wish to send over iMessage.
Step 3:
Click on the little sharing icon, which will then give you the option of sharing the voice note via Mail, Message or even Air Drop in case you are on iOS 7 like we are.
Step 4:
Click the message icon, which will take you to the message-composing window.
There simply select the contact that you wish to send the message to. You can also attach in a picture and type in some text in the same message field. Once you are done with that, simply click on send and the message is sent.
Step 5:
To cross check if the message has been sent or not, simply open your messages app and there you will see the confirmation of the message if it is still sending or already sent.
Conclusion
It really is as simple as that to send a voice message to your friends via iMessage. Although we found that the process is slightly slower on the iMessage and Whatsapp seemed to deliver the voice messages faster, but we were left much more impressed with the audio quality on iMessage. The audio was clearer and crisper as compared to Whatsapp and other such IM clients. If quality is your foremost criteria, fairly sure, you will not mind a little extra time spent in message being delivered.
Oh, and there is always a chance that if Apple’s servers are down then it takes forever. However, the method works and is another thing that iMessage really excels at. If you have any questions regarding the steps written above or anything regarding sending voice messages, please feel free to write them in the section below.
