Google recently announced an update on their privacy policies which are set to go live from November 11. Yes, we get it, most of us just ended up clicking the ‘Yes, Got it’ dialogue on the blue bar appearing on the top of Google’s Home page without really bothering to read the change in Privacy Policies.
Fact is, nobody really reads these policies, simply because we know we cannot survive without Google and not agreeing to the privacy policies, no matter what private information they want, would be a huge speed breaker on the road of our daily activities. But, on closer inspection, one would find that Google has sneaked in lines which allow them to use your Profile information including your profile picture to endorse Google run Ads.
Reports are that Google may use your images specifically on the ads that relate to product articles that you may have written a comment on or even +1’d on. This will definitely make you a little uncomfortable, band especially the fact that if you are reading about this for the first time, that the feature is already enabled for your profile.
However, you can easily opt out of this arrangement, just simply follow these simple steps:
Once you are logged in, you will have to go to the Endorsements Page of Google. The link for the same is below:
That is it, once the box has been unticked, you are safe from Google using your pictures anywhere on any sort of advertisements.
