Flipkart is the name that comes to mind when we think of online shopping. This is despite the fact that off late, it has been facing very stiff competition from rivals like Infibeam, Ebay and recently Amazon.
The most important criteria for we Indians when we shop online (and even offline) is the price. It is a very shabby way to track discounts on Flipkart products through email alert. Also, it’s quite difficult to notice discounts on existing product line on non-holidays. Fallinprices is a great new website to track discounts on individual products on Flipkart for some handy purchases.
Meet Fallinprices, your savior
The first thing which grabs your attention when you visit the site is the shoddy design of the site, which desperately needs a face lift. However that does not hamper the immense utility of the website.Upon loading you will be presented with the change in prices sorted according to the highest percentage across all the categories. To check out the original price of a product, you just need to hover on the item.
While this functionality is decent, what really sets apart FallinPrices is the option to categorically view the price fall in specific categories. Suppose you are looking for a affordable laptop which is also rated well, you can just head over to the respective listed categories, which is fairly vast.
Fallinprices updates once every noon, so you can be assured of the prices being up to date. Note that Fallinprices does not cover all the categories offered on Flipkart and rather focuses on some limited ones. This is possibly due to Flipkart restricting the queries.
Wishlist
While the site remains pretty awesome for Flipkart product hunting, there are some things which we would like to see implemented
- Broader categories would be definitely welcome
- Better design (yes, I am reiterating)
- Notification for a given product on price fall would be really handy
Alternatives
You might have noticed the obvious lack of omission of comparison with other sites in our wishlist or even in the site. This is not possible due to Flipkart’s terms of service. You could always head on to Junglee or Pricedekho for that matter, but mind you even they do not feature Flipkart in their comparison list.
Do let us know what you feel about Fallinprices through comments. Also author feedback for the creator could propel the quality of the site too. Stay tuned!
