Everyday news breaks left right and center in the world of technology. It is pretty much impossible to capture all these stories and bring a detailed report. And not bring this news to our readers feels unfair.
Just as a disclaimer, we would not be divulging into details of the story and just give a brief outline of what the story was all about. So without any further adieu lets begin on what caught our attention on what has been a rather Samsung-y thanks to MWC on February 25th, 2014.
Samsung Announces the Galaxy S V
The biggest announcement of the MWC 2014 was Samsung announcing the latest flagship, Galaxy S V. The device is made from the same mold and cast as it’s predecessor Galaxy S IV apart from a few tweaks. The device is an IP67 certified means it is dust and water resistant. The back on the phone is a dimpled soft plastic while bringing to board a finger print sensor to unlock your device. There is a heart rate sensor right next to the LED light. There is also an improved 16 MP Camera at the rear.
BlackBerry Reveals two new devices at MWC
It’s like Bangladesh winning the Under-15 cricket world cup. Insignificant, and you know it means nothing. But hey, BlackBerry has taken wraps off two new devices at MWC, the Z3 which is a budget friendly BB 10 device and the Q20 which brings back the aesthetics of what you can call a real BlackBerry thanks to a trackpad and function keys. The two devices will only go on sale sometime later this year but would be the first ones as BlackBerry begins a yet another journey under new management and partnership with Foxconn. (image: CNET)

HTC Showed off two new Budget devices in Desire 816 and 610
HTC while keeping it’s flagship, the HTC M8 a mystery till March 25th showed off two new desire devices at MWC 2014. the two phones, bring immaculate industrial design and seem to be cut from the same cloth as the iPhone 5c. The two devices are glossy but in no way reek of being cheap. The Desire 816 is a phablet with a 5.5 inch 720 P display. There are Boomsound speakers on the front to bring the perfect stereo surround sound experience. The device is powered by a Quad Core Snapdragon 400 SoC and 1.5 GB of RAM and 2600 mAh battery. The internal storage is 8 GB while the camera on the device is a 13 MP f/2.2. Interestingly the phone uses a nano SIM card just like the iPhone 5c. The Desire 610 is a successor to the Desire 601. The device borrows a lot of design philosophies of the 816 but in a slightly smaller chassis. There are same front facing speakers and the phone will run KitKat 4.4 out of the box. It is however, the 4.7-inch, 960×540 res panel that might be a bit of an annoyance to the eye. It is powered by a quad core SoC and 1 GB of RAM and will debut in Q2 this year.
Samsung Also Announced a Fitness Band called the Gear Fit
After the disaster that the Galaxy Gear was, Samsung announced the Gear 2 running Tizen as well as Gear Fit at MWC. According to the experts in the field of wearables, the Gear Fit might exactly be the perfect wearable device. It basically comes with a curved display and tracks your fitness but also brings the notifications from your phone. Sadly though, the device only supports Samsung Galaxy Phones right now. However, it is a step in the right direction, and it would be interesting how the device is taken in the market when it arrives on April 11th.
