Dual boot Android and Windows Phone are coming courtesy Karbonn
Several laptop manufacturers such as Samsung, Asus and Acer have been big about producing tablets that run both Windows and Android. Although these tablets have not really picked a lot of traction in the market, they still provide consumers with an option. However, in a move that is a first, Karbonn mobile, an Indian Mobile OEM has said it plans to bring mobile handsets to the market that will run both Windows Phone and Android. According to TOI, the device is expected in the market in six months time. Given the number of players in the Android segment, this could actually be a differentiator for the OEM and help them undercut the sales of some of the bigger players like Micromax in India.
Windows 8.1 Update to bring Background Wallpapers to desktop
It is only possible to set a lockscreen image on a Windows Phone 8 device currently. At max, you can play around with the theme color of the tiles, but with Windows Phone 8.1 set to release sometime in April, several things are going to change. Apart from the much anticipated addition of a notification center, the update will also bring background tiles to the OS. This means, you can easily set your favorite images which will be in the form of parts on top of the tiles. We are not sure how good that would look, but if the leaked screenshots are to go by, that is exactly the way Microsoft has gone about to implement background on WP 8.1.
