Motorola Moto X might not have been the most successful launch ever in terms of volumes of the device sold or the market share gained, but it was a deal breaker for three reasons. The first being, it bought Motorola back in the game. Plenty thought we had seen the last best days of Motorola, but the Moto X definitely brought them back into the playing field showing they could still compete. Secondly, the Moto X was perhaps the very first device to bring the sort of hardware customization that it did, and everybody loved it as they had a chance to own a unique smartphone that nobody might have in the universe hence starting a trend of personalised hardware. The third and most thing it taught us was that, even in the nerdy world of Android, performance always supersedes specifications.
As a result, the expectations are big from now the Lenovo owned Motorola, so what is next, becomes a very interesting question. Motorola has in the past hinted that a successor to the Moto X, expected to be called Moto X+1, would be launched later this year with no specific mention of the date yet at least. However, we can expect maybe a larger screen and bumped up specifications from the last year’s model. We are all interested in knowing what different personalization options would we get out of the box.

Once again, the renowned Twitter account @Evleaks has got first hand information and shared the various back panel options that would be available on the Moto X+1. According to the tweet, there will be three different options in solid colors encompassing warm, cool and neutral colors. Just like the Moto X, Moto X+1 would have a wood back option too with Teak, Rosewood, Ebony and Bamboo being the choices. However, what is interesting and new is that Motorola would bring a leather option to MotoX+1 as well. Black, grey, red and blue are the color options that would be available in leather backs. Only time will tell if we would have pure leather on the back of these devices or would it be faux leather, a bit like the Galaxy Note III devices.
In the mean time, do tell us, would you like a leatherback smartphone? If yes, which color would you pick? You can add your views by commenting on this post or reaching out to us on our Social Media channels.
