Ever since Android revealed details about the Android Wear last month, it has been one of the most fascinating stories to follow up to. Recently at an interview with Joshua Topolsky, Matias Duarte, the Senior Director of Android User Experience, confirmed that he was wearing one of the Android Wear devices and they are all set to be in the market by the summer quashing any story about the technology being just in prototype stage.
If that was not enough, LG has revealed more details about the upcoming G Watch, which will be the name of their Android Wear on their website here.
The watch is set to bring an always on display, something that most of the customers have been vocal in demanding given that at the end of the day, it is a watch and should show time on all occasions. There are also some amazing full renders of the watch revealing a small microphone at the bottom chin of the device confirming the reports about Android Wear being Voice Controlled. The watch is also water and dust resistant making it a companion for all conditions just like any normal watch would be. So, if you were wondering, whether you need to take off your smartwatch in case there is a dust storm or a thunder storm, that is one fear done and dusted, literally!
The UI in the revealed screenshots is very much based on Google Now cards which are in square shape replicating the form factor of the device. From what we could make out, the G watch will come in two different color choices, a black one with silver trims and black strap and a black one with golden trim and white straps. There definitely is no physical button or port on the device looking at the renders making the mechanism of charging and interesting question.
