While many of us have been saving judiciously for a MacBook Air with retina display, looks like that wait is set to continue for at least the foreseeable future. The reason for that being, Apple has quietly updated the MacBook Airs, both 11 and 13 inch today. The update is not a major groundbreaking one and the design of the computer as well as the base specs remain absolutely same as the previous models.
However, what has changed is that the new MacBook is the pricing and the processor internally. The new Airs will come with a 1.4 GHz Intel Haswell dual core i5 processor with Turbo boost up to 2.7 GHz. Not just this, the Macbook Airs are more affordable than ever now with Apple deciding to reduce the price on all four models. In the US, the price cut is by $100 while surprisingly in India, the price cut is only by Rs 2,000.
This makes the base model, which is 128 GB, 11 inch variant available for Rs 65,900 while the 256 GB model will cost you 79,990. Similarly, the 13 inch MacBook Airs will set you back by Rs 72,900 and 86,800 for the 11 and 13 inch versions respectively. Rest of the specifications, including the RAM, Screen Resolution and the Graphics Card remain exactly the same as the older generation.
