Microsoft announced the much anticipated Office for iPad late last month and since then Ms Word esp, has remained one of the top free applications consistently in various regions on Apple’s App Store. However, a major disenchantment with the app was that you had to transfer the document after you were done editing or composing it to a PC in order to get the doc printed.
However, Microsoft has paid attention to this major discomfort and updated all the Office Apps with an ability to print docs directly from Ms Word, Excel or Powerpoint on iPad as long as you have an Airprint Printer. You can select slides or pages you wish to print, and not just that, in Excel you can also print a set selection of cells making the feature a welcome add on to already an exhaustive application.
Not just the ability to print the docs, the update also brings SmartGuides to Powerpoint. If you have used Powerpoint on a Mac, you would be familiar with this feature. It basically lets you align pictures, shapes and textboxes within the slide making sure your presentation looks well aligned and symmetrical without much of an effort to your eye.
Microsoft has also added AutoFit in Excel which allows you to adjust the width of rows and heights of columns to help you reshape the cell sizes based on the data requirements, giving your sheet a very professional look. There are obviously bug and performance enhancements that come with the update.
