With E-Com market on the pinnacle of success and showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, it is only expected that the major differentiator for the big players is how to add a wow factor to the whole experience of shopping online.
Amazon has been at the forefront of the curve either by adding new features to the delivery mechanism or running interesting sale offers. But Amazon US has out thought most of this and has taken to Twitter, one of the most engaging Social Media platforms for a unique way of shopping from Amazon. It happens often that people we follow on Twitter tweet a link to an Amazon product either as a deal alert or simply because it is something that may interest a large number of his followers. So far, you had to click on the link and go to the Amazon webpage, pay for the product and wait for the delivery.
Now there is a twist. The whole process is much simpler. Suppose somebody tweets a link to an Amazon page with product that might interest you, you can reply to the same tweet with #AmazonCart. This will automatically add the product to your Amazon cart ready for the payment to be made whenever you wish to visit the site later on either by the app or computer.
As a confirmation that your item has been added to your cart, @MyAmazon Twitter account will respond to you saying that the item has successfully been added to the cart. Obviously for the whole thing to be processed you need to link your Twitter account with your Amazon account, but that is certainly not a whole big issue. Obviously, the experience is available for the audience in US only currently, but we certainly loved the idea and hope that Amazon would be able to bring something like this to India too, especially seeing that Twitter is now bigger than ever in India with more and more people using the Social Networking site.
We have embedded a video of the whole experience below, so go ahead and check that out for clearer details:
