Remember the famous line by Tom Robbins, “There are two kinds of people in this world: Those who believe there are two kinds of people in this world and those who are smart enough to know better.” Looks like the majority of the tech world falls in the first category as we believe, either you are an Android enthusiast or an iOS fanboi, anything else and you are just outdated and not entitled to an opinion.
Anyway, what it does show is the remarkable dominance that both iOS and Android devices have enjoyed in the personal tech space recently. Both sets of OS’s have their own merits and demerits and you cannot go wrong with either of them and the best way to avoid the difficult task of picking between them is to own a gadget from both the worlds if you can afford to. However, it is true that iOS and Android appeal to very different set of audience. While somebody who just wants things to work without any fuss and is looking for a simplified and hassle free experience will lean towards an iOS device, somebody who values freedom, personalisation and customization will pick an Android device.
But this is something we know, what other personality traits differ between somebody who owns an Android phone to somebody who owns and iOS device? An Android user is more likely to have a blue collar’d job and travel by public transport while and iOS user more often than not has a white collar job and travels by air. An iOS user prefers wine while an Android user would rather pick a beer when at bar, according to a recent study.
An interesting infographic below goes into more details about the differences between an iOS and Android user:
So to cut the story short, while Android users are divorced redheads, iOS users are drunk techies! Oh well. This is certainly an interesting subject to talk about.
