You might as well want to get done with all the important things you have lined up for summer right away, cause come that time, we are all going to be once again tapping profusely on our mobile screens to make sure our pretty birdy does not hit one of the cruel pipes on the way. Unless, you are living in a bat cave, you must have guessed by now that the highly addictive game, Flappy Bird is set to make a comeback this summer.
The game, a sensation on the mobile platforms like Android and iOS was mysteriously withdrawn from the stores, with the developer citing the reason that people were wasting too much time playing the addictive game. Dong Nguyen, the creator of Flappy Bird has promised to bring the game back ‘soon’ which would mean sometime this summer. It has been long expected the developer would not be able to resist bringing the game back and he confirmed his plans to CNBC’s Kelly during the Closing Bell program.
However, the return of the game was not the only promise that Nguyen made. He also revealed the plans about bringing a new multiplayer feature to game. We have no idea how this would be implemented, but most likely, we think over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth you would be able to compete with your friends or something similar. The developer also promised that the game would be less addictive this time, making sure people do not spend hours on end just taping senselessly on their screens.
Obviously there has been no official release date that has been set in stone, but most of the announcements point towards perhaps an August release. The only question that remains to be answered is, whether the audience will still remember Flappy Bird and with all the changes in the gameplay will it still be as popular as it was just a month or so ago. Guess, we will find out in three months time!
