Setting up the right iPhone wallpaper can be a big tough and drawn out decision. While it is an incredibly easy feat to achieve, you are never really sure how long will you persist with the current wallpaper and then begins the inevitable search for the next right wallpaper. Ranging from pictures of our loved ones, to the pictures of our favorite movie stars, series, bands, sportspersons to minimalistic, abstract or colorful pattern design, options for a wallpaper are a plenty.
However, due to the other elements on the lockscreen of your device including the clock, the unlock section, the date and the top bar, fitting the wallpaper perfectly is more than just scaling and cropping. And more often than not it makes a potentially good iPhone wallpaper look pretty ordinary. Add in the blur effect that the screen takes when notifications are present on your lockscreen, and you have some thinking to do when it comes to setting the wallpaper perfectly.
This is where Lockscreen Wallpaper Designer app comes in really handy. The application is available in the iTunes store and allows you to basically mod your favorite wallpaper in the blur shape that you wish to so that it looks game on your device. This can be achieved by applying various blur shape effects so that the image is blurred in the sections which are taken by the lockscreen element and rest is visible to you clear. The blur that is generated is generated from the hues of your image itself, so it does not look out of place at all. In fact, this effect makes the lockscreen look a whole lot smarter, we wonder why did Apple not add this feature by default in iOS 7.
The application is incredibly simple and easy to use, and saves you the time of opening the likes of Photoshop and other editing tools to generate the right iPhone wallpaper. You simply have to select the image and then the blur shape you wish to apply. In case you have the parallax effect on, on your newer iOS devices, you will really like this effect.
What does the App not do?
It is worth noting that the application in itself is an editor and not a collection of wallpapers, as a result you will have to supply the app with the image you wish to set up. To start off with, the app provides very basic shapes for blurring, such as circle, star, square etc, and we hope in future the developer would add in more shapes. Also, the editor currently is extremely basic, it would be great if we could add in some visual elements such as a text or maybe objects too from our side. This would give the user, more of a free hand.
The app requires you to be on iOS 7 and above to work, so in case you are on an older iOS version, you will have to upgrade your device to use this application.
