The original HTC One, or the HTC M7 users in India are reporting that they are finally receiving the update to Sense 6.0 which HTC has debuted with the new HTC M8. HTC had announced the intentions of bringing the new Sense version to its previous flagship device and has delivered on the promise. What makes the deal even sweeter is that HTC has cut absolutely no loses with the update and has bought every feature that you can find on the Sense 6 running on M8, now on M7. We hope some more manufacturers would take a leaf from HTC’s book and actually do this instead of cutting things and leaving them out on the previous flagships.
The update is rolling out in India and Philippines and is pretty heavy at about 747 MB, so you would need to be connected to Wi-Fi unless you have unlimited 3G plan on your old HTC M7. The update will see you get the new Blinkfeed, new gallery, new fonts as well as the extreme power saver mode among several other features on your phone. The update also enhances the stability of the device and the first round of impressions from those who have received the update have been extremely positive.
For those of you who like to go by the numbers and versions, the Software Version for the update is 5.12.708.3, so in case you are prompted for the update to the mentioned software version, you can be rest assured it is for the Sense 6. So far, all the HTC M7s were running KitKat with Sense 5 but finally with Sense 6, which is being rolled out in batches, you will be able to get a smoother performance and and Android skin that is even more refined and polished. To check for the update manually, you can go to Settings->About->Software on your M7. In case, the prompt does not show, do remain patient as the update is being rolled out in patches and would soon hit your device.
Has your HTC One received the update yet? If you have do leave your feedback on whats new and what you like about the new features that have debuted on the device.
