Sony has announced the Xperia T3, its latest offering in the mid range tier of the market. Sony claims that the T3 is the world’s slimmest 5.3 inch smartphone as it continues to impress with the design of its phones. The Xperia T3 is enclosed in a stainless steel frame giving it a good solid build as well as doubling up as an antennae. The Xperia T3 will bring the option for 4G connectivity, though whether this will be brought forward in the Indian variant is not clear.
The device will be available globally towards the end of the July and that is when we can expect the device to come to India too, though there is no word on the pricing of the device yet.
Calum MacDougall, Director of Xperia Marketing at Sony Mobile Communications said, “Xperia T3 has been crafted with attention to detail for those who know how to appreciate distinctive design in their everyday life. The T3 is packed with the latest beautiful technology from Sony – including leading digital imaging expertise and a vivid HD display – all within a stylish, stainless steel frame. The combination of this beautiful technology and the premium design ensures the T3 immediately stands apart from the competition”.
The Xperia T3 features a 5.3 inch IPS HD Triluminos display with Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine 2. The 720 P resolution gives the device a PPI of 277. Despite the use of premium materials, the T3 weighs only 148 grams. Just like the other Xperia smartphones, the T3 will be available in three variants, black, white and purple. The rear camera of the device is an 8 MP shooter with Exmor RS Lens. There is an LED Flashlight on the back which seems to be made of soft touch rubber. The device comes with a 1.4 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM. The internal storage is 8GB, though you do have a micro SD expansion slot. The battery on board is a 2500 mAh Li-Ion non removable unit.
