At the media briefing of the Xbox at E3 – the Electronic Entertainment Expo which was held yesterday, Microsoft made few announcements regarding the upcoming games and the availability of Xbox One in India. It was earlier announced that Microsoft would release the Xbox One in India by September 2014 which is approximately nine months after the launch of Sony PlayStation 4. Yesterday, Microsoft announced that the Xbox One shall be releasing in India on September 23, 2014 for Rs. 39,990 without Kinect and Rs. 45,990 with Kinect.
They also clearly mentioned that every Xbox One system will include the Xbox One console — which features a 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray player and built-in Wi-Fi — one Xbox One Wireless Controller and 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold for new members.
Choosing your favorite variant, with Kinect or without Kinect is one decision which probably most of us would not think much. Giving up Xbox exclusive features like gesture controls, biometric sign-in, controller paring, Skype video calls, instant personalization, instant scanning of QR codes and obviously the game play will be very hard.
The Xbox One gaming launch line up in India will be colossal, bringing the best line up of exclusive blockbusters, including AAA titles like “Forza Horizon 2” and “Halo: The Master Chief Collection,” which comes with the highly anticipated “Halo 5: Guardians” multiplayer beta which was the actually the aim of setting up a conference in E3.
Additionally, Microsoft promises to deliver other programs and offers for Asia with one of them being Gold Rush. If you sign up for the 12-month Xbox Live subscription before 30th June 2014 you will be entitled to the Xbox One downloadable version of Ryse: Son of Rome, and Killer Instinct Ultra Edition Add-ons worth $100 value. There will be more offers coming soon with the pre-orders near the launch date.
