Oppo has announced its latest flagship devices, the Find 7 and Find 7a in India after it was launched in China a couple of months ago. Unlike the Oppo N1 which was way overpriced, Oppo has learned from its earlier mistake and kept the price sensitive nature of the Indian market in mind as it aims to make a mark among the existing mobile players.
Oppo Find 7
The Oppo Find 7 is a high end Android device which will be available starting next month in India. The phone features a Quad HD display with a resolution of 1440×2560 making it the first Quad HD phone in India as the LG G3 has not arrived yet. A display size, measured diagonally, of 5.5 inch gives it a PPI of 534. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 present on top of the display to keep it safe and relatively free from major damages. The Oppo Find 7 will be driven by a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 Quad Core SoC with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. There is a micro SD slot included which supports expansion up to 128 GB.
The Find 7 has a 13 MP rear camera which features the Sony IMX214 image sensor with f/2 lens which supports recording in 4K. The best feature of the camera is that it has a Super Zoom mode that can stitch 10 images together to produce a 50 MP image. On the connectivity front you have all the usual options like 3G, NFC, Wi-Fi and GPS. The battery on board is a 3,000 mAh and has a Rapid Charging technology that can propel charging from dead to about 75% in 30 minutes. The device will come with Android 4.3 with Color OS sitting on top of it. It will be available for a price of Rs 37,990.
Oppo Find 7a
The Oppo Find 7a on the other hand is a budget and spec stripped variant of the Oppo Find 7. However, unlike the Find 7, the Find 7a will go on sale starting tomorrow in India for a price of Rs 31,990. The display has been downgraded to a 1080 P one but has the same 5.5 inch size giving it a PPI of 401. The device is propelled by Snapdragon 801 Quad core SoC but is clocked lower at 2.3 GHz. The RAM and ROM on the device have been reduced to 2 GB and 16 GB from 3 GB and 32 GB respectively.
The battery too is slightly smaller in capacity with 2,800 mAh, though, the rear and front facing cameras on the Find 7a are the same as the Find 7 capable of shooting 13 MP and 5 MP images respectively. There is a micro SD slot and all the connectivity options of Oppo Find 7 have carried over to 7a. The smartphone will run on Android 4.3 with Color OS.
