One of the major announcements at the BUILD COnference this year was that, Microsoft announced its strategic partnership to develop Windows Phone devices with several resident Indian OEMs. The biggest of the lot, Micromax has gone ahead and announced its first venture into the world of Windows Phone by launching the Win W092 and Win W121. Both the devices will be a part of the Canvas family from Micromax.
Micromax Canvas Win W092
The Canvas Win W092 is the smaller of the two devices launched and has an IPS display WVGA display that measures 4 inches. The rear camera on the device is a 5 MP shooter with LED flash, while the front facing camera is .3 MP. The phone is powered by a Quad Core Snapdragon 200 SoC with 1 GB of RAM. The internal storage in the device is 8 GB and has an expansion slot for MicroSD cards up to 32 GB. The key mapping on the Win W092 though looks more like what it is on Android with multitasking and home icons instead of the Windows logo and search keys.
Micromax Canvas Win W121
The Canvas Win W121 features a 5 inch HD IPS display with an 8 MP rear camera with LED Flash. There is a 2 MP front facing camera too for the selfies and Skype calls. The inbuilt storage is 8 MP with an expansion slot present just like the W092. The phone comes with the Quad Core Snapdragon 200 SoC with 1 GB of RAM. Just like the WIn W092, the W121 is a Dual SIM smartphone, allowing active standby of two SIMs at the same time. The W121 will come with a leather finish back panel.
