One of the largest mobile manufacturers in India, Karbonn Mobile have announced the Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus. The device is being billed as the latest flagship smartphone from the company, one that promises to put entertainment in the palm of the users. The descriptions is pretty apt as the phone is one of the smaller Android smartphones, seeing how today we consider a 5 inch device an ideal size.
The Titanium S1 is labeled as a ‘smartly loaded, smartly sized’ smartphone. The phone boasts of a 4 inch display with a WVGA screen and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad Core SoC with 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. There is a micro SD slot that supports expansion up to 32 GB. The Titanium S1 Plus has a 5 MP rear camera and a front facing camera with a .3 MP sensor. There is a 1500 mAh battery on board and the phone has support for Dual Sim standby.
The Titanium S1 Plus would go up against the likes of Motorola Moto E and Micromax Unite 2 in the price category of below Rs 10,000. While it matches in terms of specifications with the bigger boys, the Titanium S1 Plus runs Android 4.3 out of the box and not the latest KitKat goodness. With even phones for as low as Rs 2,999 now running Android KitKat 4.4 out of the box, this is a bit of a disappointment. Other basic connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and GPS are all present on board of the device. Interestingly, the device is already available on various E-Com stores such as Flipkart for about Rs 5,800.
