Microsoft has been aggressively taking on the MacBook Air of Apple in order to market the Surface Pro 3 as the ultimate portable machine. The Surface Pro 3 was announced at a Microsoft event on May 20th and since then the device has gone on sale in the United States and Canada last week. While it is exceptionally early days to read in to the sales performances of the Surface Pro 3, the hybrid tablet has been receiving some pretty rave reviews from the leading tech channels.
In order to encash upon the early buzz, Microsoft has offered to give you up to $650 in store credits if you were to bring in your MacBook Air in exchange for the latest gadget from Microsoft. This deal is available up to July 31st, 2014 and only valid within the Microsoft retail outlets in the United States and Canada. The deal will not be available with any of the online sellers for now at least. You will have to take in your MacBook Air which must be in perfect working condition with no damage to the keyboard, screen or any other major component of your device.
Upon inspection, you can earn up to $650 in store credits for the latest variant of the MacBook Air. The older generations of MacBook Airs are likely to fetch you a lower sum of credits. The Surface Pro 3 is one of the lighter hybrids out there and weighs just over 1.75 pounds and has a 12 inch display within a cool Magnesium chassis. The tablet is being hailed to be the perfect machine to help you draw, write, type and enjoy your favorite Windows softwares. The tablet runs Windows 8.1 Pro out of the box. The base model of the Surface Pro 3 is available for $799, with the type cover for an additional $129. The base model brings Intel’s i3 chip powering the system with 4 GB memory and 64 GB SSD.
