After a reasonable success of the Nokia Lumia 820, Microsoft and Nokia announced the Lumia 830 in a conference held in Berlin at IFA 2014 today. The smartphone has been rumored to be in works for a while now and wraps off it were finally taken off today as the device was announced along with the Lumia 730 and 735. The Lumia 730 and 735 are on paper the same devices, other than the fact that the Lumia 730 is a Dual SIM 3G supported smartphone while the Lumia 735 is a single SIM, LTE supported device. Both the devices will be available this month itself. Let’s look at the two of them in a bit more detail.
Nokia Lumia 830
Microsoft has billed the Lumia 830 as the ‘affordable flagship’ calling it’s performance to be on par with the likes of the iPhone 5s as well as the Samsung Galaxy S5 at a mouthwatering price of 330 Euros. The device will be available in the tricolors of India therefore you have the option of picking the phone either in white, orange or greens colors. You can opt for the black one too in case colors are not your thing. The Lumia 830, according to Microsoft is one of their lightest and thinnest Lumia device and comes with a 5 inch 720 P resolution screen. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 400 SoC, brings 1 GB of RAM and 16 of internal storage (micro SD slot included) along with some promotional One Drive options too.
The USP of the phone though is its camera module as the phone comes with a 10 MP PureView module with Zeiss optics. There is OIS on board here as well as an LED flash to help you in low light shooting. The front facing camera is a wide angle f/2.4 5 MP unit. The smartphone will come with Nokia Denim update out of the box which is slated to arrive for all Windows Phone 8 device come Q4 of this year. The update brings faster Cortana, an improved Nokia Camera app as well as other performance enhancements. The device features a neat metallic frame on the outsides while you have a polycarbonate body on the front and the back here.
Nokia Lumia 730
Keeping in line with the ever popular selfie culture, Nokia has introduced the Lumia 730, which according to them is the perfect device to capture selfies. The device weighs 133 grams and features a 4.7 inch 720 P display with Clear Black Technology. This gives the Lumia 730 a PPI of 316. Powering the device is a Quad Core Snapdragon 400 chipset and has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage with micros SD slot. The front facing camera unit of the device is a f/2.4 5 MP unit while the rear camera module is a f/1.9 6.7 megapixel unit with Zeiss optics.
The Lumia 730 is a dual SIM smartphone, while the Lumia 735 is a single SIM unit but comes with support for LTE. Both the devices have a removable 2220 mAh battery which can be removed by taking off the rear panel. The rear panel is interchangeable and is available in four colors- white, black, green and orange. The Lumia 730 will retail for a price of 199 Euros, while the Lumia 735 will set you back by 219 Euros.
