Apple recently announced the update to iOS 8.2 in an event held in San Francisco. We have spent about a week with the latest update and while there is nothing radically different other than the new Apple Watch App and few bugs being sorted here and there, there is a massive new feature which is not very visible to the eye in the form of an all new Healthkit addition called ResearchKit which would allow medical experts to add in the features to your iPhone whereby it can track several health parameters of your body.
However, we did notice that post the update the battery of our iPhones, both the iPhone 5s and the 6 Plus had depleted a fair share, and concluded that it was Fitness tracking which kept the phone up when in sleep, we experimented with turning the tracking off which definitely helped the battery out.
So, if you have been facing battery issue post the iOS 8.2 update, this is how you turn down the Fitness Tracking feature on your iPhone.
Go into Settings on your iPhone from the springboard.
In Settings of your iPhone, look for Privacy option which would be in the third division.
Under Privacy, look for Motion & Fitness, and inside that, turn off the feature of Fitness Tracking.
You will find the applications that use Motion and Fitness feature listed right here as well. Turning this feature off will automatically turn it off for all the apps, you can selectively turn it off too. In case you wish to turn Motion and Fitness on, you can simply slide the switch to the right and would be good to go.
