Yu announced a minor refresh to its Yureka device today in Delhi. In addtition to the already fairly successful, having sold almost half a million units of the Yureka, Yu announced the Yureka Plus which just adds to the arsenal of the devices that Yu has to offer. Post Yuphoria and Yureka launch, it was a minor complaint in the tech verse that Yu had not kept up with the pace of the growing industry and gone ahead with just a 720 P panel.
The Yu Yureka Plus improvises on the existing Yureka device by bringing in a 1080 P display in the same 5.5 inch screen size. It has been claimed that the existing 13 MP camera of the device has been worked upon and improved too. Other than these two significant improvements, the hardware as well as the software, of the device remains exactly the same. You have the same Snapdragon 615 SoC with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The device runs CyanogenMod 12 out of the box and just like its predecessor will be available via Amazon.
The first flash sale of theYureka Plus will go live on 24th July at noon, and the registrations for the same are already open. In addition to the Moondust color variant, Yureka Plus will also come in an interesting white version, which Yu are calling, ‘Alabaster White’. Speaking about the device, Rahul Sharma, the Founder of Yu said:
With Yureka we ushered in the revolution that’s ‘YUPlayGod’ and we couldn’t have asked for a better response from our community. We have been overwhelmed with the enthusiasm and cheer we received for the Zeus of phones, Yureka. Grateful for the encouragement and support we are returning the love by breaking our very own unprecedented benchmark with Yureka Plus.
The Yu Yureka Plus is priced at Rs 9,999 and will be available via Amazon. The launch will not affect the sales of the original Yureka device, which will continue to sell on the same site.
