iOS 9 was rolled out to public on September 16th. We have been playing around with the Beta version of the OS for a while now and while there may not have been a host loads of changes, there have definitely been enough to make us feel excited and explore the place around in iOS 9. One of the newly added features on iOS 9 is the Siri Suggestions that come under the Spotlight Search page where you swipe to the right from your first Homepage on the Springboard. Siri Suggestions comprise of your most commonly contacted people as well as the most commonly used applications on the smartphone.
For some this may be a privacy concern, if your phone is used by several people while for some it could just be an annoyance to see the contacts and apps when they just prefer a blank search bar there. So, if you want to disable the suggestions of Siri and not want the pretty voice assistant to keep an eye on your activity while you are using the device, then the following are the steps that you need to follow:
On your iOS device, running iOS 9, go to Settings from the Springboard.
From Settings, click on General which is the first option on the third pane.
In General, click on Spotlight Search, which is the second option in the second pane on your device.
Once you are in spotlight suggestions, the first option on the screen is that of turning Siri Suggestions off, so go ahead and slide the button to the left.
In case you need to get Siri Suggestions back, you can simply follow these same steps and go ahead and turn the toggle back on and you will see gradually the suggestions will build on in the Spotlight once Siri knows you better.
