Siri is lovely. However, most of the demonstrations you see on stage have Siri doing very basic stuff, like telling you the weather, maybe the time, maybe some driving directions or even a simple web search. However, there is a lot more that Siri can do and not a lot of us seem to know that. Some of the features explained below are added recently while the rest have been around for a while. Yet, since most of these are fairly unique, we thought why not share it with all of you, so that you can make the most out of your virtual assistant.
Enable Low Power Mode
Are you low on power on your mobile device and have your hands full with something or the other whereby you cannot manually put your phone on a Low Power Mode in order to conserve the battery? No worries, Siri has your back. All you need to do is to long press the Home Button, activate Siri and ask it to ‘Switch to Low Power Mode’. It will confirm if you wish to turn the Mode on and once you do that, you are good to go and conserve battery.
Flip a Coin
Have you ever been in a situation where you did not know what to do and have two solutions in mind? This is where Siri can help you. Instead of taking a coin out, simply order the lovely Siri to ‘Flip a coin’ and it will oblige and give you a result. Really useful if you have gone to a game of cricket and forgotten that trusted old coin for the toss to begin the game.
Number of Days Till an Event
Are you impatiently waiting for an event? It could your birthday or an anniversary or maybe even a marriage, but there are always dates that we look forward to. While you can set a countdown timer to the app, it may be a pain to always open that and filter the event. Instead, if you remember the date, simply ask Siri, ‘How many days to a particular date’ and you will have the answer instantly.
And one more thing…
We always over deliver, don’t we? One more quick trick that Siri does and can be really handy is tip calculation. Simple, tell Siri the bill and the percentage of the bill that you would want to pay, and it will tell you the tip. And if that was not enough, Siri also warns you in case you are paying tip in a country, where you should not.
What is it that you use Siri for most? Let us know in the section below.
