Read on to know about the brand new offerings from one of the best technology brands on the planet.
The launch started sharp at 10 am PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) or 10:30 pm in IST (Indian Standard Time). The company first showed us the brand new Apple Watch Series 2. The latest smartwatch comes with outstanding water resisting capability, inbuilt GPS, a powerful Apple S2 SoC and runs the WatchOS 3. The wearable sports a rather similar design language to its predecessor but ropes in one of the best displays in its category. The Apple Series 2 smartwatch costs upwards $369. The Cupertino giant additionally unveiled a new Apple Watch Series 1, which is basically the good old Apple Watch powered by the new S2 chip. Its price starts from $269.
The iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus were also launched. They are the first Apple smartphones to boast certified water and dust resistance. Most of the improvements of the next generation iPhones are centred around the camera department. The handsets come with some serious shooting capabilities with the larger iPhone 7 Plus even sporting an advanced dual camera set-up.
Apple has offered incremental upgrades to the performance and battery life of the new devices. A few other interesting things about the iPhone 7 family is that they lose out the traditional 3.5 mm headphone port, feature a 3D touch and force feedback enabled Home button and stereo speakers. The new iPhone is priced exactly similar to the launch price of the iPhone 6S family, with the iPhone 7 starting from $649 and iPhone 7 Plus from $749. This is actually great considering that Apple has doubled up the internal storage space.
The last wonder from the Cupertino tech company is a state-of-the-art wireless headset. The Apple AirPods is one of a kind product of its type with a brand new Apple W1 chip. It promises exceptional audio quality along with sleek aesthetics. The innovative product comes with an ample battery life of 5 hours which can be further extended to 24 hours with the help of its case-cum-power bank. The headphone features an advanced microphone for best in class voice calling capability. The native Siri integration with the headset further increases its usability. Apple has priced it at $159.
The iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, Apple Watch Series 1 and Apple Watch Series 2 will be up for pre-order right from September 9 and will go on sale just a week later from September 16. However, the Apple AirPods will not be available before late October.
In India, the brand new iPhone will release on October 7 and is expected to be priced much higher at Rs. 60,000 onwards.
