No matter which month of the year it is, you know of a friend, a friend of a friend, or at least a relative who’s planning a wedding. It’s one of those unbeatable Indian things. Indian weddings are much more than the couple. The house will be filled with friends and relatives, and cousins of all kinds, with the second and third ones too. Not to mention the school-going nephews and the unruly nieces.
Weddings are more than a family affair. There’s the bride’s beautician who’s panicking as if it’s her own wedding, and there are the groomsmen who pour themselves another shot of whiskey in the guise of calming the groom’s nerves. Then there’s the camera crew flashing lights everywhere and asking people to flash a few smiles.
Weddings are more than an easy matter. And if you’re a loyal friend at someone’s wedding this season, you’ve probably volunteered (against your will, of course) to drive the guests to and from their various rendezvous points.
Good news to you.
You don’t have to drive the guests to and from railways stations and hotels. Uber, the cab-booking company, has launched a campaign in India and the US to help wedding goers travel easy, and the wedding families breath easier.
Introducing UberWeddings
UberWeddings, the latest marketing stunt from Uber India, is a cash-free solution to your wedding driver needs. Partnering with the Indian wedding planner website, WedMeGood, the mobility company has launched the campaign in 12 cities Indian cities, namely Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Ludhiana, New Delhi, Pune, Udaipur, and Lucknow. Valid until February 2017.

To help with the planning, once you make an inquiry about the available denominations, you’ll get a call from the WedMeGood folks asking for details about the wedding. They will need information like the number of functions you need rides for and the number of guests arriving for each function. With these details, they will guide you through buying the right coupons for your event.
“So whether it is about hopping between markets, finding the perfect outfit, or getting guests to the venue, Uber will make it happen in a pre- decided budget, at a push of a button.” Says Uber’s General Manager for Deli and NCR, Mr. Prabhjeet Singh
