At some point in life, you’ve carried piles of cash and jingling bagsful of coins. It’s only natural, and sometimes you’re skeptical about making online transactions by paying with credit or debit cards. What if you can’t find the card at the store? What if you forgot your unique password? Either way, you can now stop worrying. It’s fine if you don’t like cards or numbers. The government of India is all set to launch the Aadhaar Payment App.
Aadhaar Payment App.
The says what it does. You can link your bank accounts with your Aadhaar card and make digital payments where ever you go. And the best thing is that you don’t even have to download the app, so there’s no passcodes, no app updates, and no more waiting for OTPs.
How it works.
You would’ve noticed your bank representatives calling on you asking you to update your Aadhaar card number in your account. Well, this is what that was for. If you have two accounts in the same back, you’ll be asked to make one of them primary which you will pay from when you make Aadhaar-based transactions.
If you’re a merchant…
It’s easy to collect Aadhaar payments, too. If you’re a merchant, you just need an Android phone and a biometric scanner. When a consumer makes an Aadhaar payment online, you’ll verify their identity with the biometric scanner, and you’ll get your payments instantly.
Launching tomorrow…
Starting 25th December, The Aadhaar Payment app will help you make instant online payments without having to deal with piles of currency notes. And you don’t have to worry about the service charges on card merchants and intermediaries like Mastercard and Visa. With the additional costs eliminated, more and more rural merchants can now accept online transactions, making the digital India dream a reality.
