What happens when a friend call you? They hear the boring beep beep until you pick up. That’s the way phones have been working for ages. Now imagine this: when your mom’s calling you, instead of the traditional beep beeping, she’d listen to her favorite song. And you’d have told your phone to play that song whenever your mom calls you. As for when a friend calls you, you’d have set up a different song altogether. It’s all possible, thanks to the Listen app.
Listen.
It’s an app. Listen lets you set up personalized waiting tones and music for your callers. You can select the default option or go custom and choose which song you want to play for whom. What’s more, it’s seasonal, too. So you can have certain music playing at specific times like during a month or a certain date. Cool way to wish your friend for her birthday, huh?

Status and Drive mode.
If you’re away from your phone, can’t take a call during a meeting, or driving through the highway, you can even play a custom status message to let your loved ones know what you’re up to. And if you choose, you can also enable automatic reply messages to your callers while you’re driving.
How does it work?
See for yourself.
What you need, tech wise.
The Listen app is available for free download on the App Store and the Play Store.
- If you’re an iOS user, you’ll need iOS 7 or a later version. It works with iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch devices.
- If you’re an Android user, you’ll need Android 3 or a later version.
Users say…
“I love it but the only thing is, the free stuff is too old. More modern music would be cool.”
Lyndaamira111 gave the app five stars on the App Store.
Though most users love the Listen app, there are some mixed emotions as well. Their latest updates didn’t go as well as planned and they had to work hard to get back on track. However, overall, Listen seems to be a fun app. And sometimes, that’s all you need.
