iPhone users can now rejoice. The latest WhatsApp update brings with it some much-needed features. You can now download WhatsApp version 2.17.1 which lets you experience more flexibility in messaging:
- Queue messages when you’re offline.
- Share up to 30 photos and videos at a time.
- Get more information from your Storage Screen.
Queue messages.
The feature has been available for Android for a while now, and it’s now finally here for the iPhone as well. This lets you send your messages even if you’re not connected to the internet. WhatsApp will queue your message and deliver it once you’re connected to the internet.
Share more photos.
The previous version of WhatsApp limited sharing to 10 photos at a time. Now, though, the limit has been increased to 30.
Storage screen.
The Storage Screen of the app shows you which groups or individual chats are taking up most of your space. Earlier, you had to see the information on the Storage Screen and go back to the respective chat or group to delete messages. Now, however, you can delete messages right from the Storage Screen. You can also choose which type of messages you want to keep and which you want to delete. For example, you can choose whether you want to delete videos, text, images, GIFs, or voice messages from individual chats and groups. You can try it out under Settings -> Data and Storage Usage – > Storage Usage.
More to come.
WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that will let you revoke sent messages or edit them. It’s currently available in the beta version for iPhone and is disabled by default. That’s one good feature that’ll save a lot of awkward conversations!
