Uber India has announced the launch of yet another local innovation: UberHIRE. After a successful pilot run in Kochi, UberHire will now operate in 9 cities across India.
UberHIRE.
It’s a time-based hiring service that you can book as you would a normal Uber. Whether you’re on a ride across the city or running around doing some last-minute invitations and wedding shopping, your Uber will be around, waiting for you.
Cities covered.
New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Vizag and Nagpur will get the service starting today. According to Uber India, the company plans to expand further in the coming weeks.
Speaking about UberHIRE,
“UberHIRE addresses the unique commuting needs of riders in India, especially that of tourists, business travelers, senior citizens, and working professionals by letting them book an Uber and use it for up to 12 hours.”
Says the Head of Engineering for Uber India, Apurva Dalal.
How it works.
- Open the Uber app and slide to UberHIRE.
- Set a pickup location and request a ride as usual.
- Just like in a normal Uber ride, you’ll receive details of the driver and the vehicle.
- Once your ride is complete, you will receive an e-receipt and can pay by cash.
Fits the pocket.
The minimum fares on UberHire range from INR 449 to INR 649 for up to 30 km and 2 hours. Once you’ve exhausted the distance or time limit, charges will go up to INR 2 per minute and INR 12 per kilometer. However, there may be price fluctuations depending on the city.Perfect for India
