Airtel had launched its Airtel V-Fiber broadband services in Pune back in December 2016. Based on Vectorization, which is known in Europe as the No. 1 fixed broadband technology, V-Fiber offers superfast internet broadband connections. Coupled with Airtel’s existing network throughout Pune, the network could deliver speeds up to 100 Mbps.
In addition, V-Fiber could also support HD video streaming, heavy downloads and uploads, and even multiple devices over WiFi. The service also lets existing broadband customers upgrade to V-Fiber with myHome Rewards and plenty of free calls.
Marketed heavily as an environment-friendly green technology, V-Fiber needs no drilling or wiring. In an industrial city like Pune, the reception was more than enthusiastic.
Almost three months since Airtel launched V-Fiber in Pune, Maharashtra, we tested the internet speeds to check if they’re really as fast as they claimed. And here’s what we found.
At the time of our testing, the upload speed was about 2.43 Mbps. And the download speed was at about 17.35 Mbps.
