Facebook is planning to jump into the webmail pool with a complete makeover of its message system. Sources say that the guyz at facebook are planning to launch a fully featured webmail product codenamed Project Titan, popularly being buzzed as the Gmail Killer!
Facebook’s message and chat interface have never succeeded in gaining much positive words. Managing messages was always messy, particularly deleting them took so long that people just leave them. But it looks like they are serious on it now.
According to TechCrunch, the webmail will include features like full POP and IMAP Support, unlike its competitor, Myspace’s webmail service giving its users full freedom to access. The email account name will be your vanity url – vanityurl@facebook.com.
About millions of people log into Facebook everyday, so if Facebook comes with its webmail then all of them will automatically get their account, That is about millions of account instantly!
I can’t say Whether it will be a Gmail killer or not. Lets see what Facebook has to say on this.
