Disk defragmentation and Clean-up can be quite tedious tasks. But for most people with normal hard drives, defragmentation and clean up is quite a must to keep Windows in shape. There are a lot of paid disk maintenance apps, which perform the task of disk defragmentation and clean up quite well. But here we look at a free alternative which performs the same task, without costing you anything.
What is FixBee?
FixBee is a free disk optimization software which performs both disk defragmentation and system cleanup. In the midst of complicated UI’s of the paid apps, FixBee breaths a new air with its extremely simple UI. FixBee has following key features
- Disk Defragmentation
- System Cleanup
- Automatic Scheduled Maintenance

Getting around with FixBee
Installation is fairly simple and straightforward. The app has two tabs: one each for Disk Optimization (Defragmentation basically) and Disk Cleanup. Prior to each operation, a scan is performed analysing your partition reporting you the current scenario and whether the Disk Optimization / Cleanup is recommended or not.
Choose custom installation while installing FixBee to avoid the headache of annoying search toolbars getting installed.
I chose to try to optimize my C drive of size 234 GB. The entire operation including scanning took me 1 hour 35 minutes. While it may sound too much, considering the mammoth size of the partition it is quite decent. Although I found that almost immediately after reboot, upon scanning it recommended optimization again. Nevertheless my Disk Optimization Score got bumped from 760 to 840 after performing the task. Not to mention the PC being more responsive overall.
System Cleanup was a fast affair, though I found a lot of customisability lacking like scanning junk files from custom apps, a killer feature which is what CCleaner has been offering since ages. The process took just few minutes though. I ended up saving a meagre 48 MB after system cleanup.
FixBee offers automated scheduled scanning for both Disk Defragmentation and System Cleanup. You can comprehensively specify the time. Expected feature but really well implemented.
The Verdict with Ramblings
Quite frankly, there were quite a few missing bits in FixBee. We would highlight some critical ones.
- Disk Optimization although fast could be even more optimized for speed
- System CleanUp is too barebones. Additional Customizability would be welcome.
- Along with system junk, app scanning would be a good addition to System Cleaner.
Of course these are very minor issues, which we expect to be worked on, over the course of time. Mind you, FixBee is extremely lightweight, fast , very intuitive and best of all : Free. We would recommend FixBee to anyone who is looking forward for improving the performance of their system with minimal fuss.
