WordPress 3.0 is Coming Soon – Whats In There For You?

So we have a new update for all the Bloggers out there who love WordPress! The next version of WordPress is scheduled to launch on 13th April this Year (Woah that’s on my birthday! Looks like they have planned a good surprise party for me ;) ) A lot of new cool features have been packed with the bundle including a new default theme, Multi-User options, Custom Background and Image support system, Canonical Plugins and much more!

There will be no more commits for enhancements or feature requests in the release cycle, only bug fixes as per the team. The new default theme named as Twenty Ten (nice name) and it looks kinda nice, atleast much better than in the current 2.x version. Heres a screenshot :-

The new version will come with these features :

• Multi-User option now will be available to all WordPress 3.0 users - This is one of the best features that will allow you to manage multiple blogs with different permissions – from a single admin panel.
• Custom post types – This means bloggers can now easily create and manage content.
• Menu management – The new menu management will come with drag and drop and other usability features brought to various types of menus.
• Custom Background and Image support system – It will help you create new theme for your blog much easily in just some minutes
• Specific author templates – So, you can easily mark your own post or entry with your signature.
• Canonical Plugins - This means that you will be able to easily use your favorite plugins without being afraid that new release of WordPress will kill them.
• And lots of more security fixes to make your blog more secure.

Ooh Lala I can’t wait for the new update. A lot of problems that i am currently facing will then be solved. What do you say about it ?
